Scrolling isn't the problem. The content is.
PaperFlow is an alternative to doomscrolling: instead of a feed that leaves nothing behind, papers explained in plain English, with their findings, limits and original sources in view.
About PaperFlow
Why it exists
We open our phones without looking for anything and leave just as we arrived. That time exists, repeats every day and currently goes to content forgotten in ten minutes. PaperFlow does not compete for extra time: it competes for that time already being used. We do not ask you to scroll less, measure your screen time or promise any effect on your wellbeing or health. What changes is the content that fills that time.
How each reading is made
We start with a specific academic paper and adapt it into English with AI assistance and human editorial review. Every reading explicitly separates four things:
- What was investigated: the study's question and method.
- What was found: the finding, in plain language.
- What it cannot show: the actual limits of that finding.
- The source: DOI, authors and a link to the original paper.
The limitation is not a footnote: it appears beside the finding, because it is the part most often lost when research reaches a feed.
What PaperFlow is not
It does not replace reading the full study or a review of all the evidence on a topic. It is not a reference manager or professional academic search engine. It does not provide personalized medical, psychological, legal or financial advice. Explanations use AI assistance and may contain errors: that is why we always show the source, so you can check what you read. We also do not claim that any study demonstrates PaperFlow's effectiveness; the papers we publish did not evaluate this application.
Current status
This website presents the idea and an open library of 200 readings in Spanish and 200 in English, with their sources, without signup or payment. It does not yet offer purchases, payments or app account creation. Reader and Researcher are described for information, without published prices or an active paid trial. You can join the waitlist for launch updates.
Who is behind it
Franco is building PaperFlow independently. We do not have a large team, a funding round or reference customers to show, and we would rather say so than invent signs of scale. If you find an adaptation that misrepresents its source, write to us and we will correct it.
